Ligbidi Make Headlines As Vincent Torgah Bows Out in The Knockout Stage.

The "Southeast Shoot-out" reached the head to head stages on day three and there were thrills, spills and roars galore at the Arsenal Golf Club Obinze in the early knockout stages.Here is everything you need to know from Friday's showdown as it unfolded in Owerri.

The tournament  got to its round of sixteen on Friday where only players who were able to make it into the first sixteens were paired into eight groups, and at this stage the drama started to unfold.

 

It was the group of Gift Willy and Mike Ubi that first cut many eyes watching as one of the two Porthacourt  based players has to leave, for the other to advance into the quarter finals, that is the last eight through a nine hole playoff, which must be a stroke play format.
The drama reach it climax when Willy had to bow out for Ubi  when he carded a three-over par over while his colleague scored Even-par  to win the match.

K. Ligbidi vs V. Torgah the Drama

Though round three's comeback was good? You aint seen nothing yet. After sneaking into the weekend by one shot after going 74-75-71 in rounds one,two and three Kwame Ligbidi showed all his class in the knockout stages. He was two-under for his nine holes and looked largely unruffled even when Torgah finished birdie on the fifth hole. The Ghanian made just one bogey in 9 holes and had to show real guts in front of a raucous local crowd where he finished two-under par to beat  tournament favorite Vincent Torgah by four shot after he carded a two-over par in the last-16.

 

With windy conditions and the greens playing fast at the Arsenal Course , you would not expect a player like Kwame   to be one to watch and seeing him knockout the number one player on the Tour but he was spectacular on Friday .
