5th leg race to Nigeria masters: U. Anoruo Leads in 1st day of Race to Nigeria masters leg 5 

We bring to you another exciting tournament live from the Luscious green of the Arsenal Golf Course in the lovely city of Owerri.

It’s the 5th Leg to the Race to Nigeria Masters and 8 players are presently in struggle to subdue the course and go home with the prize money.

Topping the leaderboard with a par (72) is the ever relentless golfer; U. Anoruo. He started the round with a par which was not too bad but eventually played bogeys in hole 4th,8th and eventually finishes the front 9 with an Eagle. With pars in hole 10th,11th,15th & 16th, a bogey in hole 13th and birdies in hole 17th & 18th in the back 9, saw him coming in with 39, finishing the round with par (72).

“All I can say now is wow! I am happy am getting my footing back, though the game of golf can’t be predictable but am optimistic about coming victorious and getting the prize money at the end of the tournament “, Anoruo said in a media chat with the africantour correspondent.

Coming close in second place with a tie are another Optimistic Golfers; J. Alex and G. Inalegwu with 2 scores difference playing a 2 over par (74).

​

Inalegwu wasn’t in a good mood to speak with the media while Alex on the other hand said, “it was really not a good way to kick start the tournament but tomorrow is another day we hit the green”.

The rest of the players are battling to make it to the top of the leaderboard, all players have done their best, we hope that they can make it to the top. It’s the Race to the Nigeria Masters, anything is possible!
